Is it not a curious fact that organised Christianity has fought strangely shy of using this particular piece of vocabulary? For centuries Christian people have contented themselves with phrases such as – the Christian religion, the Gospel of Salvation, the Doctrine of the Atonement and of Justification by simple faith, etc., but although there existed a perfect phrase in the Bible which included all these separate facets of the truth, they avoided its use almost to the extent of ignoring its existence.
