Information we collect and why
If you contact us, join a mailing list, register for an event, donate, apply for membership or otherwise submit a form, we may receive your name, contact details, message, preferences, transaction reference and other details you choose to provide. We use them to respond, provide the requested service, administer donations and memberships, send updates you asked to receive, keep records and meet legal obligations. Please do not include sensitive information in a general enquiry unless it is needed. Payment card details entered into a payment provider’s hosted form are handled by that provider; do not send them by email.
Forms, payments and service providers
Our contact and subscription pages can embed forms hosted by Typeform. Our donation page embeds Donorbox; payments may be processed by the payment options displayed by Donorbox. We also use Mailchimp for mailing-list administration. Information submitted to those services is handled under their own policies as well as our instructions. We use website hosting, security and administrative services to run the site. We share information with providers only as needed for these purposes, when you direct us, or where law requires. These providers may process or store data outside Australia; their locations and sub-processors can change, so contact us if you need current details before submitting personal information.
Analytics, cookies and external content
This website uses Google Analytics for audience measurement, Google Tag Manager to manage website tags, and Google Ads conversion measurement and remarketing. Google Ads/DoubleClick tags can record advertising-related visits and interactions, including across sites, and can set or read cookies such as _gcl_au and test_cookie. These tools can collect online identifiers, browser and device details, pages visited and interactions, and may set or read cookies. Essential cookies may support site operation and security. Embedded Typeform and Donorbox forms, videos and other external content may also contact their providers and use cookies when loaded. Providers can process data outside Australia. We are reviewing and improving our cookie choices; at present, do not assume that optional tracking is blocked until you choose it. You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser, though that may affect embedded services. We will update this page as the consent controls are put in place.
Email and your choices
We send mailing-list updates if you subscribe or ask for them. You can unsubscribe using the link in a mailing-list email or contact us. We may retain messages, donation and membership records for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose, legal requirements, disputes or administration. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information but no online service is risk-free. Please contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, or to make a privacy complaint. We will consider the request under applicable law and explain if a record must be retained.
